Media Day at the New York International Auto Show is part spectacle, part controlled chaos - and Luxe Magazine showed up ready to take it all in. Set inside the gleaming Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, the morning unfolded under glass ceilings and polished steel, with the kind of electric buzz only a pre-opening crowd can generate. Representing Luxe Mag were Sal Alibeck, Liz Smith, and Anahita Bahranova, fueled appropriately on Starbucks and ready to cover ground.

The luxury lineup wasted no time setting the tone. Porsches and Lamborghinis were staged in a kind of exhibit-within-the-exhibit - plush carpeting underfoot, ropes keeping just enough distance to remind you these machines are as much art as engineering. It felt curated, almost gallery-like, with every detail designed to elevate the viewing experience. And then the Corvettes - low, aggressive, and impossible to ignore held their own, delivering that unmistakable American bravado in a room full of global icons.

Not far from that high-gloss intensity, the reimagined classics offered something deeper. Vintage bodies, restored and reworked, blended nostalgia with precision. These weren’t just throwbacks - they were evolutions. The kind of cars that carry stories (and speed nightmares!), but aren’t done making new ones.

Then came the FIATs - compact and full of personality. Where other cars leaned into power, these leaned into design. Clean lines, playful energy, and just enough edge to stand out without trying too hard. A reminder that presence (especially the Italian type!) doesn’t always come from size or sound.

We didn’t just observe, we got to work. Luxe Mag conducted an on-site interview amid the buzz, with Anahita on videography capturing every angle while Liz stepped in for a quick style check on our interviewee (because presentation matters, even trackside). We also took on the show’s track experience: equal parts adrenaline and control, bringing the machines to life beyond the showroom floor.

The show runs through April 12, giving New Yorkers a tight window to catch it - but consider this your sign to go now.
